The Dry Society Social Club Annual Gala is not just an event... it's a powerful event! It's a shining example to those in early sobriety that we can and do have an incredible amount of fun without relying on alcohol!
The Gala also allows the community to unite in celebration and raising a toast to a vibrant life, sans alcohol. Together we continue to break the stigma, inspire others, and show the world that living joyously in sobriety is not only possible but an extraordinary reality.
From hiring vendors in the recovery community, handpicked venues in non-gaming/bar environments, and offering internationally acclaimed speakers and talent, no details are spared in the planning of this annual event!
Careful thought is given to those in recovery from substance use (no alcohol is served, carefully curated mocktails are always available by a professional mixologist), gambling addiction (no machines/tables/raffles), PTSD (no confetti cannons, balloon popping games, or pyrotechnics), social anxiety (a welcoming 'quiet space' is always available for those that just... need a minute or two alone).
Recovery Month, which started in 1989, is a national observance held every September to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery in all its forms possible. This annual observance was implemented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA]).
Since 2019, Dry Society Social Club has participated in celebrating recovery on the 3rd Saturday of everySeptember.
